The Rice Terrace Bali House is located in the artist community
of Ubud, up the palace road (Jl. Suweta), about 2.5 kilometers from
town. The house is situated in the middle of many beautiful rice
paddies. Enjoy the peace and quiet of a private home. Relax with
a view overlooking the rice fields. At night be charmed by flitting
fireflys and songs of frogs and geckos.
Rice terrace is a 2 story house with traditional Balinese alang-alang
roof, antique carved doors, bamboo and teak spiral staircase, tropical
garden bathroom, partially outdoors. There are 2 bedrooms and 1
bath. The master bedroom has a king size bed. The 2nd bedroom has
a full size/carved antique Chinese bed and a great view. There is
a cozy living area, very large covered deck, with Javanese benches
for lounging. Lovely gardens and a rice barn/lumbung for the kids.
The house sleeps 4, 2 more if you use the rice barn (the kids love
it!). Enjoy hot and cold running water, fans and a small refrigerator.
Additional amenities include maid service daily, fruit basket, flowers,
and hot water thermos for coffee/tea. The home is decorated with
Javanese antiques and Balinese handicrafts.
Nearby Attractions
Ayung river rafting, elephant ride at Desa Taro, monkey forest,
museums, Guning Kawi temple, Tampaksiring temple, Goa Gajah/elephant
cave. Great biking and hiking trails, 2 blocks from the house, is
a great walk into the rice fields, and meanders into town, takes
about 1 hr. Art, wood-carving and cooking classes, healing and massage
centers. Great restaurants: Casa luna, Indus, Tegal, Arys Warung,
Bumbus, Batan Waru, Mumbuls and Tuk Mak, as well as many others.
Best book store in town: Ganesha Books/ Jl. Raya - hard to get books
(used), also music classes and musical instruments. Handicrafts:
the Nyoman Campuan shop near the bridge - please tell her you are
staying at Cheryl's house... Have fun and remember to bargain. Many
internet cafes.

Cleaning fee: $50 for one week or less, $80 for two weeks
Daily maid service.
Bedding Information: Master bdrm/king size bed. 2nd bdrm/full
size, antique chinese bed, upstairs, great views, like a tree
house. Additional futons for the rice barn, rice barn/lumbung
has electricity (like a children's tree house/fort). Sleeps
up to 4 in the house, possible 2 more in the rice barn, if
you are adventurous!
